Ferns Siargao
Ferns is the spot when you want to feel fancy without leaving the island vibe behind, plants everywhere, soft lighting, a live band most evenings (Prime Circle plays here, and they’re actually good). It’s the one you save for your last night, an anniversary, or the evening you finally want to sit down properly instead of eating off a plastic table at a beach bar. Get the blackened fish, it’s the dish people come back for twice in one trip. The chicken parm comes with a pasta portion that could feed a small crew, and the jerk chicken hits hard on spice (there’s banana on the side to cool it down if you need it). Ask the bartender for a screwdriver even though it’s not on the menu, they’ll make you one anyway and it beats most cocktails on the strip. They bring bruschetta and refill water without being asked, which says a lot about how the floor staff are trained. Ask for Chim, JP, Kirby, or Jona if you want the full treatment. The spicing runs heavy across the menu, so if you’re sensitive to herbs and chili, order carefully or say so up front. This isn’t a quick-bite place or a cheap one, it’s for the night you actually want to dress up a little and linger over a proper meal. Skip it if you’re after a rowdy live-music bar scene, this is dinner-and-a-band, not a mosh pit.
