GRWND
Grwnd is the one on the main strip you go to for a French crepe done properly and a coffee that photographs better than most of your Instagram feed. The avocado burrata toast is the move if you’re eating in, and the crepe-and-gelato combo is the reason there’s usually a small queue out front around brunch time. Order the Nutella crepe with gelato, or the golden omelet if you want savory, and budget for cafe-plus prices, this isn’t a 150-peso breakfast spot. Smoothie bowls are hit or miss – the peanut butter add-on tends to be more theory than flavor, so ask for extra if you’re getting one. Gelato flavors like biscoff pecan and creamy guava are good, though a single scoop runs pricier than you’d expect for the size, and the brownies come out dense enough to double as a doorstop. The crepes are the real draw and worth the wait, but that wait can be long, and when the Nutella crepe gets rushed the sugar scorches and turns bitter. Service can be off on a bad day – slow tables, mixed-up orders, the odd fly – so this is a sit-down-and-relax stop, not a grab-and-go, and if you’re in a hurry or hate ants near your table, eat elsewhere.
