Haole Surf Hostel

Everyone talks about Haole like it’s a restaurant with a hostel attached, and that’s fair. The scallops are the reason people drive all the way out to Santa Fe, cheesy and melt-in-your-mouth good, and the sisig has locals arguing it’s the best on the island (a Pampanga native or two would push back on that, but that’s a fight for another day). Get the Aloha Plate if you’re two or more people: garlic fried chicken, crispy sisig, cheesy scallops, kimchi, and rice for 350 pesos, and it’s stupidly good value for what shows up on the table. The sisig alone feeds three, so solo diners get flagged down by staff and shown the lunch menu instead so they don’t over-order. Pair anything with the Ube-Blueberry shake or the Uji shake, both worth ordering even if you’re stuffed. It’s a fair drive from General Luna, so don’t come here expecting a quick lunch between surf sessions – this is a destination meal, not a pit stop. Go hungry, go with friends so you can order the platter, and don’t stress about the sisig being greasy, that’s the point of sisig.
