Harana sits right on the beach about a 5-minute walk from Cloud 9, which puts you close enough to the action without being swallowed by it. Rooms are small and rustic – nobody’s pretending otherwise – but they’re clean, the beds are comfortable, and the resort dogs will absolutely claim your attention whether you invite them to or not. The restaurant is the real anchor here. Eat by the beach, order the fish sisig, and plan to stay longer than you intended. The surf school runs structured multi-day courses with named instructors (Blair and Charlie come up repeatedly), which matters more than it sounds – consistency in coaching actually gets beginners standing up. Saturday nights get loud, and General Luna’s main strip requires a tricycle or scooter ride. The beach itself is better for surfing than swimming – shore breaks out far – so adjust expectations accordingly.
