Kanin Baboy is a casual Filipino spot in General Luna built around one thing: lechon. The house special is the move – well-spiced, Cebu-style-adjacent pork with crispy skin and a sauce that people apparently dream about months later. Sit upstairs where there’s air-con. The lechon is the clear winner here, but consistency is the issue. Some orders come out dry, some salty, and the sinigang has divided people hard (tomato-forward, not the tamarind tang you might expect). The tortang talong and gising gising are excellent and worth ordering alongside the pork. Service runs slow and can feel indifferent – this isn’t the place to come hungry and impatient. The menu also rotates what’s actually available on a given day, so don’t arrive with a fixed plan.
