OZEN Freediving Siargao & Hostel

OZEN runs freediving courses (intro through AIDA W1) and fun dives out of a combined school-and-hostel setup in Siargao. The coaching staff – Jen and Dale get named repeatedly – are good at taking nervous beginners and turning them into people who can actually hold their breath underwater without panicking. That’s harder than it sounds, and they do it well. The fun dive trips go to spots like Jacking Horse, and coaches bring GoPros so you get footage to review your technique afterward (not just Instagram content, though yes, also that). Visibility depends on conditions, which is the ocean’s fault, not theirs. The hostel side means you can book accommodation and diving together, skip the coordination headache, and have a veranda to decompress on after. The operation skews toward beginners and first-timers, which is exactly the right call for an island where most visitors have never held their breath on purpose.
