Ragu is a proper European-style deli and cafe doing things Siargao has no business having – house-baked baguettes, pain au chocolate, financiers, tiramisu, and sandwiches built from imported meats and cheeses. The bread is baked on-site, the pastry selection rotates, and the flourless chocolate cake alone justifies the detour. The space gives you options: air-conditioned inside or a terrace when the sun cooperates. It’s quiet enough to actually think, which makes it a rare thing on this island. The masala chai and Himalayan salt latte are worth ordering alongside whatever you’re eating. Stuffed focaccias and more savory items are reportedly coming soon (the owner, Rocks, has been promising them and seems like someone who follows through). The deli counter also sells meats and cheeses to take away, which is useful if you’re self-catering.
