Coco Frío does one thing and does it stupidly well: coconut and coffee, mashed together in every combination you can think of. This is your go-to when you want a Ca Phe Sua that actually tastes like something, or a coconut milkshake that will ruin other milkshakes for you afterward. It’s a grab-and-go hole-in-the-wall, not a sit-and-work cafe, so come here for the drink, not the laptop session. Order the classic (coffee and coconut milk, the one everyone orders twice), the Ca Phe Sua if you want Vietnamese-style strength, or the Coco-freeze if you don’t even drink coffee. The affogato is the best on the island, full stop, and the soft serve is milder on coffee flavor but still worth it. Prices are properly affordable, it’s smack in the middle of General Luna so you’ll walk past it anyway, and the ice cream tastes like actual coconut, not syrup pretending to be coconut. Staff are warm enough that you’ll miss the humans as much as the drinks when you leave the island, which is rare for a to-go coffee stand. Skip it if you want a proper cafe with seating, wifi, and a food menu – this is a quick stop, not a hangout. Go once, then accept you’ll be back daily like everyone else.
