Isla Cusina sits on the General Luna strip inside Isla Cabana and does a wider menu than most spots around here – Filipino food, burgers, pizza, pad thai, breakfast, desserts. The pistachio ice cream and cheesecake have their own fan club, and the cheeseburger holds up better than it has any right to at a beach resort restaurant. Indoor AC and outdoor seating means you can choose your suffering level on a hot afternoon. The staff is the reason people come back. West and Jelica get named in reviews constantly – the kind of servers who actually pay attention to your table without hovering. A 3.9 rating across nearly a thousand reviews suggests the kitchen can be inconsistent, but when it’s on, regulars (including island locals) consider it one of the better options in GL. Pricing is slightly above the local average, which is worth knowing before you sit down. The quality generally justifies it, but this isn’t the place if you’re watching every peso.
