Kermit Surf Resort and Restaurant Siargao

Kermit is the place everyone ends up at least once for the wood-fired pizza, even people who aren’t staying here. It’s a resort with rooms and surf lessons attached, but the restaurant is doing most of the heavy lifting reputation-wise, and the pizza oven earns its keep. Beginners get looked after well in the water too, instructors are patient and won’t laugh at you for falling off in the whitewash. Order the pizza, obviously, and get it while it’s hot because these things sag fast once they cool. Truffle chips are a solid side, cocktails and mocktails are well made even if the pastas are hit or miss (the cheese-bomb version some kitchens call carbonara shows up here too, so maybe skip it and stick to the oven). Restaurant gets properly busy at dinner, service holds up under pressure but expect a wait if you land during peak hours. Yoga classes run small in the morning, five or six people, worth doing before the day heats up. Come for the pizza and the surf lesson, not for a quiet romantic dinner – it’s a resort restaurant with resort-restaurant energy, not a hideaway. It’s tucked a bit off the main strip so budget extra time finding it on your first visit, tricycle drivers know it by name if you get stuck.
