This is the cafe everyone on the island ends up recommending, and then you show up and there’s a queue for the AC. Mushroom bene, eggs benedict, coconut granola bowl with coconut yogurt ice cream – this is the brunch menu people build their mornings around, and more than one regular admits to going almost daily, which should tell you something about the discipline required to not become a Spotted Pig lifer. Get the mushroom bene or the eggs benedict if it’s your first time, the cinnamon roll is stupidly huge and worth splitting, and the granola bowl covers you if you want something lighter. Gluten-free options and proper sourdough are on the menu too. Matcha’s a genuine standout, the passion fruit tea is a good call in the heat, but the straight coffee is inconsistent – a flat white landed flat for more than one person, so maybe stick to the specialty drinks. It’s small inside, gets loud, and gets full fast, so don’t roll up starving expecting a quiet corner table. Credit cards are accepted, there’s dedicated scooter parking outside, and the team works hard through what looks like a permanent rush. One real annoyance: they don’t split bills for groups, so sort out who’s paying before you order if there’s more than two of you. Go for breakfast or early lunch on a quieter day if you want to actually get a table without a wait.
